This isnโ€™t really the place to dive into it, but you know, itโ€™s really interesting to note the effect that Fortnite has had in building friendships across sports teams and leagues. Players from different teams can play the game together in squads, and even being able to do that is such a transformation from the player interactions of, like, ten years ago.

Anyway, because Paul George is such good friends with his regular Fortnite buddy Josh Hart, people are convinced that George is going to join Hart on the Los Angeles Lakers in free agency. Specifically, they were spotted together at a Fortnite event at the E3 gaming expo (also held in Los Angeles! HMM...), and and an ESPN reporter decided to ask Hart about his future teammate, Paul George.

Hart plays along with the joke, but George wants absolutely none of it.

Although all indications are that George has grown to enjoy playing in Oklahoma City over the last season, the rumour mill has linked him towards his hometown Los Angeles for well over a year now, so there might be something here.

With that said, Fortnite probably is not going to be a deciding factor... especially since you can play the game with friends over, you know, the Internet. But isnโ€™t it funny to think about a future in which relationships built over a videogame can shape the NBAโ€™s next major free agency decision?

Already once before, Hart had his concerns about a tampering fine when he and his fellow teammate Kyle Kuzma mentioned the star known as PG-13, in a manner of speaking, during a Fortnite stream.
