Because Fortnite remains so popular among professional athletes and many athletes stream their games, fans are able to get a window into their favorite athletes that provides some candidness. That also means they get to witness the occasional wacky interaction in real time -- although this one definitely leans towards strange.

In a stream for charity with fellow NBA players Larry Nance Jr. and Frank Kaminsky, Josh Hart and Kyle Kuzma of the Los Angeles Lakers nearly engaged in some accidental tampering with upcoming free agent Paul George. (According to the NBA, tampering is defined as any player, coach or management personnel attempting to recruit a player already under contract with another team.)

Warning: NSFW language follows.

Here's a transcription of the stream, also with the same language warning:

  • HART: Hey, JimmyD40, appreciate that.
  • KUZMA: Jimmy deez nuts, alright?
  • NANCE: Aw, Kuz, man, come on. Come on. PG-13.
  • HART: Sheesh, Kuz. It’s for the kids. You can’t say that for the kids.
  • KAMINSKY: How is that not PG-13? ... I don’t want to live in a world where that’s not PG-13.
  • KUZMA: Hold on, hold on, hold on. We can’t talk about PG-13.
  • HART: Aww, yeah, we can’t say PG-13. Tampering, that’s tampering.
  • NANCE: They play for the Lakers ... it might be tampering.
  • KAMINSKY: Well, I don’t, so PG-13.
  • KUZMA: Man, tampering is d***, man.
  • HART: Oh my god, Kuz, we have little kids watching.

You see, PG-13 stands for Parental Guidance for children under the age of 13, but it is also Paul George’s nickname. The Lakers are already in hot water after being fined $500,000 last year for coming into ‘impermissible’ contact with George’s agent, so you can see why Hart and Kuzma may be concerned.

Now, on one hand, it’s hard to imagine that the NBA would actually fine the Lakers for this, but on the other hand, it would be kind of hilarious. But personally, we’re just glad that Fortnite is still so popular, so that it can bring us exchanges like these.
