The World Cup is drawing closer and closer with the official group draw taking place this Friday.

Ahead of that big moment, where we’ll find out who has the easiest path through the group stage and who will end up in the dreaded group of death, FIFA released the tournament’s first official poster. They chose some authentic Russian artwork that pays tribute to Russian soccer legend Lev Yashin.

It’s some awesome artwork and it’s already starting to get us excited about the World Cup.

The tournament is already missing some of the usual suspects, as USA, Chile, Italy and the Netherlands all failed to make it mast qualifying. So, the tournament is sure to have some fresh blood and there will be plenty of hungry teams. In tournaments as big as this, things will always be unpredictable, but we’re already reaching a new level.

Tune into TSN on Friday to watch the full World Cup draw.
