Alexander Ovechkin’s fight with 19-year-old Andrei Svechnikov sent some waves through the hockey world, but we’re happy to see that last year’s second overall pick is back at practice.

Ovi dropped Svechnikov with a heavy right hand and it’s clear that it did a little damage. At first, he was placed into concussion protocol and his coach was clearly unhappy with how the whole affair went down and he’s also wearing a cage a practice as well. In terms of visible damage from the punch, you can see that Svechnikov was left with a black eye.

There’s still no word on when Svechnikov might be cleared to play, but hopefully it’s soon. The Carolina-Washington series is starting to get interesting and considering he is still tied for the team lead in goals in the playoffs, the Hurricanes could definitely use him.

Carolina will try to tie the series up on Thursday night, and we’re pretty sure nobody is going to fight this guy again.
