Marc Andre Fleury is set to make his long anticipated return to Pittsburgh tonight in what should be an emotional game at PPG Paints Arena.

A former first overall pick by the organization in 2003, Fleury helped the franchise capture three Stanley Cups and gradually became a fan favourite. He got his return started off right by receiving his 2017 Stanley Cup ring from Penguins owner Mario Lemieux.

Fleury has gained the reputation as one of the best teammates in the NHL. Those who have played with ‘The Flower’ have commended him for his selflessness and willingness to put the team first. Former teammate Phil Kessel had a chance to walk by his old teammate in the hallway, and didn’t hold back from chirping the netminder.

You’ve gotta love ‘Phil the Thrill’.

Both players have been enjoying significantly strong seasons. Fleury has been the catalyst behind Vegas’ success while Kessel is on track to set a new career high in points (previous is 82 in 2-110-12 with the Leafs). Fleury got the best of his old team after he stopped 24/25 shots in a 2-1 home victory on December 14.

It will be interesting to see how tonight’s actions plays out, but you can expect the goalie to receive a standing ovation from both fans, and players.
