If you’re on an NHL bench, watch out for pucks out there! We didn’t think that this was something that needed the warning, but after an unsuspecting John Tavares was nearly struck by an errant puck, the same thing happened again on Monday night.

On the call for tonight’s game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Columbus Blue Jackets, NBC’s Pierre McGuire was apparently so absorbed in the commentary that he didn’t notice a puck flying past the Blue Jackets bench and right towards him.

Fortunately, it missed his face by a few inches — especially with no headgear, that was nearly a gnarly little incident.

The puck ended up hitting the camera instead of McGuire, and it's also fortunate that it didn't hit the camera operator instead. You'd think that after the incident with Tavares became a meme over the weekend, other guys would be aware enough to avoid the same happening to them, but nah.

For his part, Tavares said he was in deep thought about the game — we guess the same applies to McGuire, too.

JT’s got the confidence we all need in life 😂👏
