This has been a devastating Sunday for players around the NFL. A staggering number of injuries have struck over the course of the Week 2 games, with a number affecting star players specifically.

Among the most brutal losses are the Giants' Saquon Barkley (feared torn ACL), the Broncos’ Drew Lock (shoulder sprain) and the 49ers' Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas (feared torn ACLs) as well as Jimmy Garoppolo (high-ankle sprain). Christian McCaffrey also suffered an ankle injury, which is believed to be on the more minor side.

We’re not even through the day’s slate of games yet, but here’s the most recent on the day’s injury toll.

And counting...tough day for injuries in the NFL.

This is tough news for fans around the league, fantasy football players and just anyone who enjoys watching good football. Some have suggested that the lack of preseason and practice created an atmosphere where injury risk would be higher for players, but either way, we’re hoping the best for these players going forward.

For sure, this has been the kind of day that has football fans shook.
