If you haven't been counting down the days until Christmas, you should probably start because the 25th of December is less than a week away and it's truly the most wonderful time of the year.

If you're like us, though, and need something to brighten your day on this wet, cold and cloudy Tuesday (the last Tuesday before Christmas), we've got you covered because this week's edition of our Mascot Power Rankings are like a cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter night.

Before we go to this week's edition of the rankings, here's a reminder of how they work.  Every Tuesday, we rank the top ten mascots from the past week in the sports world.

We don't care if you think that Youppi! (Montreal's mascot), for example, is the best looking mascot out there or your favourite because if Youppi! didn't do something that caught our attention in the past week, Youppi! isn't cracking the top ten.

It's that simple, but also complex because there are other factors we take into account, but we can't just reveal the entire recipe for this delicious treat we like to call Mascot Power Rankings.

You'll just have to trust us and enjoy this week's edition of the BarDown Mascot Power Rankings, and if you think a mascot is deserving of being in the top ten, don't be afraid to tweet @BarDown explaining why or to nominate a mascot for the next edition of the rankings.

10. Stanford Tree, Stanford Cardinal (Up 117 spots)

We know what you're thinking, this video isn't from last week in sports, so why is the Tree in the top ten?  The reason is a simple one, Christmas is right around the corner and the Stanford Tree is a happy reminder of that fact.

9. Benny The Bull, Chicago Bulls (Down 2 spots)

In case you missed the commercials or haven't seen anything about this movie on social media, the newest chapter in the 'Star Wars' saga came out last Friday.

Professional sports teams have hosted Star Wars nights more recently because of the new movie, but nobody did it better than Benny The Bull, who's in the top ten for the second straight week.

8. Jack The Bulldog, Georgetown Hoyas (Up 76 spots)

Jack was Ridin' Dirty straight into the top ten when he decided to cruise onto the court against Syracuse in his jeep.  Also, Jack trolled Syracuse by running over some orange soda cans. #BonusPoints

7. Slapshot, Washington Capitals (Down 4 spots)

Raise your hand if you're as ready for the holidays as Slapshot is!  The Capitals mascot was the star of the team's holiday party. Slapshot participated in some reindeer games and even helped deliver a special surprise to a family.

6. Gnash, Nashville Predators (Up 18 spots)

Gnash makes his return to the top ten with a bang thanks to some great tweets.  Social media is a huge part of our world now and Gnash has found a way to take advantage of it and troll some people at the same time, which is very entertaining.

5. Jonathan The Husky, UConn Huskies (Up 44 spots)

Do we really need to explain this one? There are few things better than an adorable Husky kissing people under the mistletoe, and the outtakes are just as awesome.

4. SJ. Sharkie, San Jose Sharks (Down 3 spots)

It's all about being versatile, and if you though SJ Sharkie was strictly a hockey mascot, think again.  This past weekend at the 49ers game, Sharkie scored a touchdown a celebrated in a wonderful way to stay in the top ten.

3. New Mexico Bowl Mascot (Unranked)

Tis the season for Bowl Games.  Not only do they put a spotlight on players and teams you may not have heard of, but they also put the spotlight on some mascots you've never heard of, like the Gildan T-Shirt which made an appearance at the New Mexico Bowl.

Not only does this mascot look funny, but it's got dance moves that scream top ten.

2. Clutch, Houston Rockets (Up 218 spots)

Any mascot that can take a left hook from George Foreman and live to tell about it is as tough as they come. Clutch, apparently, is as tough as they come.
1. Sabretooth, Buffalo Sabres (Up 1 spot)
Nothing says Christmas like having a snowball fight in a beautifully lit park with Christmas music playing.  Safe to say Sabretooth spread a lot of Christmas cheer this past week and that's what this time of year is all about.
