The New York Jets fell 25-20 to the Atlanta Falcons in a wet one out at MetLife Stadium. Despite the strongest efforts from Batman, the Jets couldn’t find a way to seal the deal, as they lead for a good portion of the game.

Weather played a huge factor in the loss, as kicker Chandler Catanzaro failed to hit two field goals from inside the 50-yard line. Had Catanzaro nailed both of them, the Jets would’ve likely been sitting at 4-3 on the season instead of 3-4.

One person that didn’t mind Catanzaro missing the field goals was former Jets kicker Ross Martin, who lost out in training camp to Catanzaro for a roster spot.

When the game had finished, Martin tweeted out a video of himself showing Jets fans that he was able to nail kicks from 50 yards out in the pouring rain like it was no big issue whatsoever.

It’s one thing to do it by yourself when nobody is around instead of doing it in a loud, pressure packed stadium during an actual game.

But let’s give Martin some credit here, because this was a fantastic troll job from he former Jets kicker, who decided to kick his former teammate when he was down, and perhaps put out a flyer to the Jets brass that he’s capable of hitting a big game shot.

We can’t give Martin full props, because he was likely inspired by Nick Novak, who tweeted out this video earlier this year after Younghoe Koo of the Los Angeles Chargers missed numerous field goals through the first four weeks of the year.

Novak, who was a Charger from 2011-2014 and spent the last two seasons in Houston, and earned himself a new contract with Los Angeles on October 5th. If it worked for Novak, perhaps it could work for Martin.
