Every Raptor fan knows Kyle Lowry is a fiery competitor. It shows on the court, and from the sounds of things, it shows in his brand of leadership as well.

That isn’t a bad thing! Lowry is just a passionate dude, and sometimes, that means a couple swears just happen to slip out. Via The Athletic, some of his former and current teammates offered their own testimonials of Lowry’s intensity. We think Fred VanVleet stole the show with this quip.

“...he berates everybody. He doesn’t care who you are — coach, ref, player, whatever. He’s just ‘mother****ing’ everybody. If you foul him, he’s gonna let you know about it. He trash talks. When he’s locked in, he’s a hell of a competitor and he can raise the intensity of the entire gym by himself. We always appreciate when we get that Kyle. I try to bring it out of him as much as I can. I poke and prod and talk junk to him a lot.” —Fred VanVleet

There you have it: A rare glimpse into the mind of Kyle Lowry, mother**** and all. Of course, it’s that same bulldog mentality with which he’s won over so many fans in Toronto.

Speaking of winning over fans, ever since the Raptors split up the pair of Lowry and DeMar DeRozan, fans have made the heartbreaking observation that Lowry continues to do his special pregame handshake even in DeRozan’s absence.
