Most hockey players have incredible hand-eye coordination, as it pays incredible dividends to be able to redirect a puck or bat one out of the air for a good goal.

When those types of goals occur, it's usually right around the goal mouth.

But over in the German league (Deutsche Eishockey Liga), we have footage of a goal from a game between the Wolfsburg Grizzlies and ERC Ingolstadt that proves you don't need to be close to the opposition's goal to bat one in. In fact, you can be all the way in your own zone.

Brett Olson was the goal scorer, and we're here by announcing that he needs to join a baseball league this summer.

The goalie, Jerry Kuhn, was completely caught off guard and didn't even notice that the puck was flying through the air, as he was crouched down looking elsewhere He reacts at the very last second as the puck approaches him and hits his pad before just crossing the line.

For all you goalies out there, this is a prime example of why you should always keep focus at all times, and expect the unexpected.
