For the first time since 1988-99, the U.S. Open is going back to its reigning champion.

West Palm Beach native Brooks Koepka won the tournament on home soil, becoming the just the seventh golfer in the last 115 years to win back-to-back titles.

 

With a final round score of +1, Koepka beat out England’s Tommy Fletwood by a stroke, and cleared the top ranked Dustin Johnson by two strokes and was three in front of reigning Masters winner Patrick Reed.

The 28-year-old started the final round Sunday in a four-way tie, and managed to shot two-under for a score of 68.
