For any NFL player that’s had the honour of being drafted into the league while attending the event, it’s clearly a life changing moment. Hearing your name, being overwhelmed with relief, pride, and glee, walking across the stage, accepting a hat and jersey from a new team, a team that believes in you, a team that wants to make you a star!

In all that madness of attention and emotion, we CANNOT forget the all-important Roger Goodell hug.

Love him or hate him, Goodell is firmly planted right into the biggest moment of many player’s lives. He is the first to greet players once they get on stage, giving them a big hug to welcome them into the NFL.

With COVID-19 causing the NFL to go virtual in 2020, Goodell didn’t get to hug any of the drafted players. Instead, he basically fell asleep in an arm chair in front of the whole country.

Never fear, 2021 is here! Thankfully for ALL OF US (sarcasm intended), Goodell will once again be able to hug players at the NFL Draft. When the “news” broke, the reaction that ensued was nothing short of hilarious.
