As is fairly standard in the NHL, the Philadelphia Flyers invited two local youth hockey teams to play during an intermission period of Saturday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Not so standard in the NHL is the presence of a fellow who goes by the name of Gritty, and true to his name, he was out there crashing the net. Sean Avery would be proud.
Oh, Gritty. We thought we’d seen it all until Christmas rolled around and paved the way for Santa Gritty. The guy’s an animal! Goalies everywhere need to watch out for the hairy orange meance with the googly eyes and the Santa suit.
