Maybe the saying of the “nerds always win” isn’t exactly true anymore.
On Friday’s edition of OverDrive on TSN1050 with Bryan Hayes and Jeff “The O-Dog” O’Neill took on TSN’s intrepid reporter Mark Masters and former TSN1050 Maple Leafs reporter Jonas Siegal in a much anticipated battle of trivia.
In one side of the studio, you had Hayes and ODog aka ‘Team Jock' or 'Team Eye Test'. On the other side, you had Masters and Jonas forming 'Team Corsi.'
The day of the big showdown finally arrived! Rumors around the TSN headquarters were swirling harder than trade deadline day about a special guest referee being on hand to make sure everything ran according to plan.
Some even suggested that Masters and Siegel’s Corsi friends were making odds and probabilites on the game. The hearsay around the studios was that Team Corsi was ready to destory Team Jock.
Masters came decked out in a suit, but had a special trivia championship belt. Being the jock that he is (or once was), O’Dog decided to wear an Auston Matthews Leafs jersey while donning a New York Giants helmet.
The special guest ref? None othern than SportsCentre host Kara Wagland!
After months of sitting inside hotel rooms on the road quizzing each other on trivia games instead of hitting bars, Masters and Siegal were finally ready to get their revenge on the jocks.
