We have some tough news to share from the hockey world.

Legendary goaltender Henrik Luundqvist announced via social media that he will not play for the Washington Capitals next season due to a heart condition. Luundqvist, 38, was scheduled to begin his 16th NHL season in less than a month after spending the past 15 with the New York Rangers.

Awful. Hank shared a video message of his own explaining his decision.

The league simply won’t be the same without ‘The King’ between the pipes in 2021. A stud between the pipes and an even bigger one off of it, Hank has been one of the main faces of the league for the majority of his career. Both players, and teams shared words of encouragement for the Swedish native.

We wish you nothing but the best Hank, all the best. The hockey community has got your back!
