They’re back!

With their win tonight, the Winnipeg Jets clinched a playoff berth for just the second time since returning to Winnipeg in 2011, when they were swept 4-0 by the Anaheim Ducks. It was a win-and-in situation for the Jets, who earned their victory in the form of a dramatic shootout against their division foe Nashville Predators. With the game on the line, goaltender Connor Hellebuyck denied Filip Forsberg to send Jets fans at BellMTS Place into a Frenzy.

Hockey fans were overjoyed after the Jets sealed the deal, and made sure to congratulate them on becoming the first Canadian team to earn a spot in the 2018 postseaosn.

You think Jets fans are excited about the Whiteout?

It’s been a historic season so far in Winnipeg. Patrik Laine is second in the NHL in goals behind Alex Ovechkin, Wheeler is second in assists behind Claude Grioux, and Hellebuyck has enjoyed a Vezina type of campaign. Things have been pretty good so far in the Peg.

Dating back to their days in Atlanta, the Jets have still not earned a playoff victory. With home ice advantage in sight, it’s a safe bet that they could break that trend in April. Buckle up Winnipeg, things are about to get interesting in the coming weeks.
