It’s never surprising to hear the words “highlight reel goal” and the name “Connor McDavid” in the same sentence. But even by his standards, McJesus' second period goal might be his nicest to date.

Edmonton hosted the Dallas Starsand although fans were forced to watch yet another loss this season, they were at least treated to what could very well be deemed as the goal of the year when it’s all said and done. Early in the second period, McDavid found himself in close to Stars goaltender Anton Khudobin and with basically no other options available, he decided to get a little fancy and go through the legs… top cheddar. Just disgusting.

Uh…

We expect these kinds of moves from Connor but still, fans couldn’t contain themselves on Twitter afterward.

Talk about hitting the big 4 0 in style!

We’re sure Connor was fired up about this one but generally speaking, he doesn’t seem to care all that much about his stats this season. At least that’s what fans can take away based on his answer regarding setting a new career high in points…

Unfortunately for Connor & co., the Oilers will likely be missing the playoffs for a second consecutive season. Imagine the highlight goals this dude would be able to pull off if they get some more talent around him!
