A lot of people consider their time in college to be the best time of their life, so when it all comes to an end some find it harder than others to take it all in and realize it’s the end of an era.

The No. 8 American International College Yellow Jackets went head-to-head with the No. 2 Canisius College Golden Griffins Atlantic Hockey quarterfinals action and the two teams needed all three games to figure out a winner. The Golden Griffins ended up taking the third and final game by a score of 3-0 and while the season didn’t end how any of the Yellow Jackets would have hoped, it really didn’t end well for forward Bryant Christian.

The senior forward ended up breaking his leg in the first shift of Sunday’s quarterfinal game but he didn’t want to go out that way. Instead of taking off all his equipment and watching the remainder of the game from up above, he stuck it out with his teammates and delivered one final college hockey shift on a broken leg.

"In the waning seconds you realize the dream is over," Christian said to Inforum.com’s Chris Murphy. "I wanted one last opportunity to be able to represent the school that gave me the opportunity of a lifetime. It was something that meant a lot to me."

The Moorhead, Minnesota native suited up in 110 games for the Yellow Jackets and tallied 15 goals and 22 assists for 37 points.
