One of the wildest finishes to a football game took place earlier this week in a high school state championship.
Thompson High School and Auburn High School went head-to-head this past Wednesday in Tuscaloosa for the Alabama 7A state title game. With less than one minute to go in the game, Thompson found themselves down 28-19, and that’s when the unthinkable happened.
They thought their season was over and then they blocked the punt and got a little bit of life back in them. They needed to secure the onside kick and did that successfully to set themselves up for the game-winning kick.
Easily one of the greatest comebacks we’ve ever witnessed.
