All is good in Carolina right now.

The Canes are gearing up to compete in their fourth conference championship in franchise history and with their success, business is boomin’ baby! Per ESPN, the Hurricanes averaged the fourth lowest attendance in the NHL in 2018-19 but that might all change next season.

TSN’s Pierre LeBrun reported on Tuesday that new ticket business for the 2019-20 campaign has increased to $3.6 million from $500,000 the previous year. Those ‘Bunch of Jerks’ are bringing home the bacon!

After finishing with 83 points at the end of the 2017-18 season, Carolina kicked their play into another gear under first-year head coach Rod Brind’Amour, finishing 11th overall with 99 points. Their improved play, however, is just partly the reason why hockey is once again booming in Raleigh. Perhaps even more of the credit should go out to the team’s infamous ‘Storm Surges’ they’ve been pulling off after wins. Who are we kidding, they were probably the sole reason why some fans went to games this season in the first place.

There might not be a team having more fun in any professional sports league than the Hurricanes at moment. With the Carolina Panthers coming off of a down year and the Charlotte Hornets missing the playoffs as well, the Canes are the hottest ticket in town.

Hockey is once again alive and well there!
