The AHL playoffs are right around the corner and the Charlotte Checkers are one of the teams in the Eastern Conference still fighting for a playoff berth.

Alex Nedeljkovic has been solid all year long between the pipes for the Checkers, but with less than 10 games remaining on the schedule he decided to make a change to his goalie mask in hopes of it bringing him some extra good luck the rest of the way. However, he didn’t go the intimidating route and went with something entirely different.

The 22-year-old Hurricanes goalie prospect showed some love for Charlotte by incorporating NASCAR parts and the Queen City crown on his mask, but he also decided to include Checkers equipment managers Steve Latin and Donny White on his mask as well.

You know you’re doing your job right when one of your goalies adds a portrait of you on his mask and considers you to be one of the best guys he’s ever worked with.
