First things first, we understand that Ice Cube is a rapper. Some may immediately dismiss anything he has to say about the NBA based on that alone, but he does know a thing or two about basketball.

Ice Cube founded the Big3 basketball league in which former NBAers can ball out. It’s also located in Los Angeles, California – the city in which the Clippers play.

When asked about the Kawhi Leonard free agency situation that has been polarizing fans and analysts for 11 months, Cube had some pretty strong opinions on the Clippers.

He calls the idea of Kawhi joining the Clippers a joke, and then continues to rip into them by stating that they are no threat to his Los Angeles Lakers no matter what because they haven’t done anything before. He even says that they shouldn’t be allowed to play in the Staples Center.

While Cube’s opinion may be a little biased based on his Lakers fandom, he does say that he thinks Kawhi will stay in Toronto. The Lakers were at one point in the discussion as a possible destination, although that feeling seems to have worn off, particularly with the Anthony Davis acquisition.

He stay? He go? Hopefully it won’t be much longer until we find out!
