The Flames and Oilers might not seem like the most compatible trade partners because of the whole "Battle of Alberta" thing they've had going on since Edmonton entered the league in 1979, but they engaged in a trade on Friday.

It wasn't a huge trade, but it did involve two big names that had their fair share of struggles last season, Milan Lucic and James Neal.

Lucic recorded a career-tying low of 20 points last season, but he's hoping a change of scenery, and a number change, will help him have a big bounce back year for a Calgary team that's more than capable to compete for a Stanley Cup.

Lucic appears to be going back to the number he wore with the Bruins and Kings, and it served him well as he won a Stanley Cup in that number.

This also adds another layer to the Battle of Alberta next season and we're excited to see what happens when Lucic takes the ice against his former team.
