How long does it feel like it’s been since the world was normal?

You know, normal? Since hockey was played in the winter? With fans?

It almost feels like years since the regular ebb and flow of a regular, pre bubble era, NHL season. This 2019-2020 season was a crazy one, though, with many unexpected twists and turns that you may have forgotten about in the blur of the past six months.

Exhibit A:  remember when the Toronto Maple Leafs lost to their own AHL Zamboni driver and practice goalie.

Yeah, us too.

It feels like light years ago, but as the Canes pointed out on Twitter today, it’s the 7 month anniversary of the what we thought would be the craziest thing to happen in 2020.

On this day back in February, the Canes beat the Toronto Maple Leafs with their iconic EBUG David Ayres in net, and the world hasn’t been the same since.

Do you know how crazy the year 2020 must have been that this might not crack the top five craziest moments of the year?

David Ayres, we hope you’re doing well, you absolute gem.
