Now that the NHL Draft is over and done with, teams around the league have kicked off their development camps, bringing in their top prospects in together to get a feel for the NHL atmosphere.

Some teams held their camps immediately after the draft, while some waited a little longer into the dog days of summer.

First overall pick Jack Hughes was in New Jersey following the draft, but didn't get the chance to join his new potential teammates for any official on-ice activities.

After the bulk of free agency started, the Devils welcomed their prospects into town for development camp starting on Monday.

Come Tuesday, all the fun and highlights commenced.

When Hughes spoke with the media, he made it quite clear: he's ready to get his professional career started.

“I’m focused and ready to play in the NHL,” Hughes said. “That’s my goal. It’s not really a thing I think about because it’s kind of an expectation for me.”

Just 86 more days until Hughes gets to step on the ice for a game.
