Whether it’s through embellishing a call or flopping to draw a penalty, players are always looking for that extra edge to help them come out on top. Well, except for James Neal.

According to Martin Biron, the Oilers were about to go on the power play, until James Neal stepped in to make sure the correct call was made.

What’s even more impressive was that Neal did this when the game was knotted up at 2. A power play here would have been a huge chance for the Oilers to find the game winning goal.

Instead, Jack Eichel scored the game winning goal on a penalty shot in overtime to give the Sabres the win.

McDavid might not be happy about it, but there’s no doubt that James Neal truly is the real deal. Love the integrity!
