Draft Day is cool to watch for a number of reasons. Football fans get to witness the first steps towards their future, for better or for worse, but there’s another reason that makes Draft Day so fun to watch.
You’re watching what could be the greatest moment of a person’s life unfold. Hearing their name called by the NFL Commissioner is something that young ballers dream about growing up, and on Draft Day, it’s a dream come true.
Players handle the moment differently. Some jump into the arms of Roger Goodell (looking at you, Micah Parson), while others can’t help but shed some tears in the moment. Nearly every player takes a second to share the moment with their loved ones.
We say “nearly” every player, because the 2021 Draft provided one hilarious moment from Jaylen Waddle doing the exact opposite.
After the Miami Dolphins selected him 7th overall, Waddle took a comical glance towards his family before bee-lining out of the green room. The young man had the stage set on his sights!!!

We’re pretty sure the Alabama standout was just caught up in the moment, but the hilarious icing spread across the internet pretty quickly.
Maybe he was just trying to socially distance!
