Former NHLer Jeremy Roenick is one of the most colourful hockey personalities out there. While some players chose to be reserved and relaxed, the man known as JR is as bold and outgoing as they come, and has never shied away from being himself.

Whether it’s catching catfish down in Tennessee with NFL players, or calling players out like he did with Patrick Roy years ago, or smooching his former teammates in a Hall of Fame game, Roenick is always up for causing a stir or jumping into the centre of the attention for some sort of activity. It doesn't matter if it's a controversial subject or issue, Roenick will speak his mind, and isn't afraid to step out of the boundaries of normality.

The 47-year-old played six seasons down in Arizona with the Coyotes, and now makes his home there when he’s not out on the road doing hockey games for NBC Sports.

When you’re living down in the desert, you’re bound to run into some snake problems, and sometimes you need to take action if they’re making themselves feel at home in your cool, quiet garage port.

Being the fearless man that he is, Roenick decided to take the matter into his own hands by grabbing a pair of iron golf clubs and a pinning a rattlesnake into between them before grabbing it by its head before discarding of it.

If you needed any confirmation as to how insane or ballsy Roenick is, just to listen to the videographer tell Roenick that he’s “nuts.”

Roenick then decides to remove the snake off his property, walking it over to a wall, and throwing it airborne.

At least he didn’t kill the poor thing.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Boston product engage with a reptile before.  The nine-time all-star did his best Crocodile Hunter impression when he wrestled a gator a few years ago.

Safe to say Roenick hasn’t really been all that bored with life after hockey.
