Philadelphia 76ers centre Joel Embiid left it all on the court in Game 7 on Sunday night but in the end, it wasn’t enough.

As Raptors fans can joyfully recall, Kawhi Leonard hit a buzzer beater for the ages over Embiid’s out-stretched arms to punch Toronto’s ticket into the Eastern Conference Final. While Raptors players jumped together in celebration, an emotional Embiid was spotted wiping tears from his face shortly after. The seven-footer was found walking back to the 76ers locker room looking completely distraught and shared a very touching moment with his girlfriend Anne de Paula on the way.

What a moment between the two.

Wait, that’s not Rhianna!!!!

Even after leaving the room, Embiid was clearly in no mood to talk about the night’s events.

Embiid’s embrace with de Paul wasn’t even his first after the final buzzer. Raptors centre Marc Gasol’s first instinct was to console his opponent before even talking to one of his teammates after the shot.

At 25, Embiid still has more than enough time to redeem the loss, but this one’s still going to sting for a longggggg time.
