All of a sudden, it seems kind of fun to be a Ottawa Senators fan (Sickos!). While it’s been a pretty rough go since their Game 7 heartbreak during the 2017 Eastern Conference Final, it’s finally starting to turn around.

They still aren’t really a serious threat, but young guns Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stutzle, Josh Norris, Drake Batherson, and more have reinvigorated the team with a youthful energy.

You can add Joey Daccord to that list. The Sens rookie goaltender made his NHL debut after a Matt Murray injury occurred in warmup, and promptly went on to beat the North Division-leading Toronto Maple Leafs. While his play on the ice was definitely impressive, he stood out especially well with how he conducted himself when the puck wasn’t in play.

Ahead of the Sens vs. Vancouver Canucks broadcast, TSN analyst Mike Johnson recapped some of the better moments.

While Daccord still has a lot to prove on the ice, he’s already established himself as a phenomenal locker room guy. As Johnson explained, Daccord is the sort of guy that a team can really rally around.
