Josh Donaldson is one of the most passionate baseball players to ever play the game and apparently he’s just as passionate about the rules of the game.

Yesterday, MLB posted a video of Nick Pivetta catching a ball in his jersey. It was a comebacker that hit him right in the hip and got caught up in his jersey. It was counted as an out in the game, but once the MLB posted on Instagram, Donaldson had to speak his mind.

Catching a ball in your jersey. Just like you practice in Spring Training.

Apparently this comment was seen by a lot of people because Donaldson even took to his own Instagram to prove his point. It also appears that Donaldson is right on this one, although it probably doesn’t matter considering the fact that the runner stopped running.

From earlier. Lots of questions asked why it is not a catch.

Now we know if Donaldson was out there on this, he would have kept running.
