James Van Riemsdyk has been busy putting up numbers on the ice this season. The 28-year-old has posted a respectable 26 goals and 15 assists in 67 games, helping the Toronto Maple Leafs steadily hold onto one of the Atlantic Division’s three playoff spots. But off the ice, The Leafs forward has been attempting to become more cultured.

So it seems.

Toronto endured a five-day break from game action since their 5-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres, and in his down time, JVR decided to take a trip to the Art Gallery of Ontario (also known as the AGO), located in downtown Toronto to experience artist Yayoi Kusama’s incredible display. Van Riemsdyk posted an array of trippy photos on Twitter, and made sure to cap it off with a perfect reference from the film Wedding Crashers.

If you haven’t watched the movie in a while or just haven’t seen it at all, the quote is in reference to one of its more memorable lines. After the character of Todd (played by Keir O’Donnell) shows an affinity to Vince Vaughn’s character by gifting him a painting, Vaughn insists he is keeping the artwork after O’Donnell’s character demands it back.

The fact that JVR had the presence of mind to reference the iconic film is simply incredible.

There have been a lot of sport-Hollywood moments occurring lately. Just last week, The Dallas Cowboys brought back Uncle Rico (played by Jon Gries) from the the iconic film Napolean Dynamite, where the organization finally allowed him to go pro.

Dak Prescott has got a little competition...

It’s always fun to see sports and movies collide, and JVR’s most recent reference is certainly one of the better one’s you’ll see.
