St. Patrick’s Day is one holiday that even sports franchises like to take part in. Every year, teams get into the spirit by hitting the ice for the pre-game warm-ups in green St. Patrick’s Day-themed jerseys.

This year, the Tampa Bay Lightning’s ECHL affiliate Kalamazoo Wings are going above and beyond and ditched the typical green jerseys and created Leprechaun-themed jerseys for their game that night against the Indy Fuel.

We’re excited to see what their green ice ends up looking like. Hopefully they plan on playing the game with green ice, because that will certainly be a first. Like always, the special theme night jerseys will be auctioned off to the fans after the game.

For some reason, ECHL teams love hosting their theme nights when the Fuel are in town. Last month, the team was part of the Cincinnati Cyclone’s TMNT Night and even got their own villain-themed jerseys to wear for the night.

However, we doubt they’ll get their own theme jerseys for next week’s game against the Wings.
