Kawhi Leonard likes basketball. For the most part, that’s all you’ll really hear him talk about and that’s all he wants to talk about. So, this teaser for his new shoe is perfectly on brand.
Kawhi always seems to do things a little differently in the NBA, so aligning with New Balance also seems pretty on brand for him, but this teaser is more about letting your game speak for you. Kawhi has been doing that for years. Kawhi had a lot of doubters coming into the year (About how he would fit in Toronto and how he would return from injury), but he has shown with his player that he is still a top player in the league.
This will be a new era of New Balance in the basketball world, so what better place to make their first appearance than at the All-Star Game. Kawhi will be a starter on the Eastern Squad, but considering how much rest he’s been given this season, we doubt they’ll see too much action this weekend.
Up until this point, he’s been wearing Jordan 32s, which launched “Banned Day” in 2017, but he’ll probably be rockin’ New Balance for the foreseeable future.
