The Jason Garrett firing circus is finally over in Dallas. After fans and analysts called for Garrett’s head for years of mediocrity out of the Cowboys, Jerry Jones finally pulled the trigger. Well, actually he lightly squeezed the trigger, backed out, asked around to see if anyone else wanted to do it, closed his eyes, fired a blank, and finally told Jason Garrett to take a hike.

One circus ends, and another begins as the ‘Boys have now hired Mike McCarthy, former head coach of the Green Bay Packers and someone who wildly fell out of favour with NFL fans for his extremely odd decisions and philosophies during his final year with the Cheeseheads.

While just about everyone had something to say about the hiring, nobody was quite saying the same thing as Los Angeles Chargers star wide out Keenan Allen. He, uh, had a pretty embarrassing oversight when he tweeted out his reaction.

So clearly Allen thought McCarthy was still coaching the Packers. It’s not necessarily Allen’s job to know the head coaching positions of teams around the league, but you’d think he would maybe double check before tweeting out a response like that… after all, IT IS PRETTY WEIRD THAT MCCARTHY WOULD COMMIT TO ANOTHER TEAM IF HE WAS STILL IN THE PLAYOFFS WITH THE PACKERS, ISN’T IT, KEENAN???

The tweet has since been deleted.

Allen certainly has never been shy to publically react to things with whatever is on the tip of his tongue, we’ve seen it on his social media channels before.
