Kevin Love has been one of the NBA’s most outspoken players about mental health, and his willingness to be open about his struggles has in turn helped so many others with their own.

Rarely do athletes get a chance to see the tangible results of their own impact they can have, though. A Twitter user by the name of Ryan Bradley shared their own story about how the chance to meet Kevin Love changed his daughter’s life for the better, and it’s really tugging our heartstrings.

Hi. We love this. We love everything about this. This is why it matters so much when an athlete speaks up, and it’s really great to see Love showing support for others in need. It takes a lot of strength to do this.

As for his decision to open up, Love credits DeMar DeRozan; he followed the then-Raptors star’s lead by taking to The Players’ Tribune with a memorable essay detailing his history with panic attacks and mental illness.
