Playoff hockey is just around the corner in the NHL, but it's already well underway in the KHL. If you're a hockey fan in need of some playoff hockey to watch before the NHL playoffs, the team to watch in the KHL is SKA Saint Petersburg.
The defending champs have a roster that includes Ilya Kovalchuk and Pavel Datsyuk. During Game 3 of their Conference Semifinals series against Lokomotiv, Kovalchuk was easily the star of the game for more reasons than one.
Kovalchuk mocking his opponent for what he thought was cowering instead of fighting was wonderful to say the least. The Olympic gold medalist also scored both goals for Saint Petersburg in the 2-0 win to give his team a 2-0 series lead.
It's going to be fun to watch Kovalchuk and Datsyuk as their quest for another Gagarin Cup continues and we're sure NHL fans are keeping tabs on
Kovalchuk now more than ever as he's confirmed he'll be coming back to the NHL in the summer.
