Following 13 years in the NHL, we haven't seen Kyle Quincey since the 2017-18 season, but a handful of his former teammates are organizing a fundraiser on behalf of him and his one-year-old son Axl, who is fighting brain cancer.

Quincey doesn’t have any public social media pages of his own, but former teammates including Kevin Shattenkirk and John-Michael Liles have shared links to a fundraiser selling special shirts in order to raise money for organizations researching childhood cancer.

The fundraiser appears to be organized by Haley Stastny, the wife of Quincey’s former teammate Paul Stastny.

“A group of family, friends, teammates, and many more rallying to support Axl Quincey and his family in their fight against childhood cancer,” reads the campaign description. “After Axl's first surgery, he woke and climbed up his dad (Kyle), and clung to him like a koala to a tree. Before his second surgery, he was coincidentally given a gown with koala bears on it. Thus the Koala!”

It’s definitely heartwarming to see the NHL family continue to support Quincey and his family even a few years removed from the league. The campaign has already raised over $5,000 in an hour after the link was initially shared out.
