Kyrie Irving is known as one of the best point guards in the NBA, but he’s also considered one of the strangest due to his comments about certain conspiracy theories like the Earth being flat and not round.

The 26-year-old has faced a lot of criticism and has been the butt of many jokes for all of his flat Earth comments, but on Monday he go the week started by apologizing for all of those comments.

Irving was a guest speaker at the Forbes Under 30 summit in Boston on Monday and he was pretty quick to offer an apology to science teachers and fans for his comments.

“To all the science teachers, everybody coming up to me like, ‘You know I’ve got to reteach my whole curriculum?’ I’m sorry.”

Like many people before him, Irving got wrapped up in conspiracy theories while spending time online. After listening to each side of the argument, he was quickly stuck in the middle wondering what’s real and what isn’t.

“I’m not against anyone that thinks the Earth is round. I’m not against anyone that thinks it’s flat. I just love hearing the debate,” said Irving. He also went on to add, “At the time, I was like huge into conspiracies. And everybody’s been there.”

Looks like Irving won’t have to answer anymore flat Earth questions this season.
