The Kings debuted the white jerseys back in 1988, spanning 10 seasons through the 1997-98 campaign.

The Adidas adizero jerseys were unveiled Friday night by Kings legend and team president Luc Robitaille at a State of the Franchise event in downtown Los Angeles.

We all loved wearing the jersey as players and I personally love seeing it in the community to this day," Robitaille said via the Kings' website. "Most importantly our fans love it and we were thrilled to show it tonight, to surprise our most loyal fans, and the immediate reaction in the room was tremendous."

The jerseys are synonymous with the Wayne Gretzky era in Los Angeles after the team acquired the superstar in a blockbuster trade from the Oilers. The logo and jersey was used at the Gretzky press conference to announce the deal back on August 9, 1988.

"It's one of the most impactful and iconic eras in hockey and sports history," Kings Chief Operating Officer Kelly Cheeseman said. "Starting with Wayne Gretzky we are so identified by that brand and we are bringing it back for these special nights by the demand of our fans.

The jerseys will be a permanent addition to their collection. The club will also announce a custom jersey for their 2020 NHL Stadium Series game against the Avs set for February 15th,

The ‘90s throwbacks will be available for purchase at the Team LA team store on February 20.
