Lisa Leslie is one of the greatest players in WNBA history and the Los Angeles Sparks plan on honouring the eight-time WNBA All-Star in an awesome way in the near future.

On Thursday afternoon, LA Times sports columnist Arash Markazi tweeted that Leslie will be getting a statue from the Sparks outside the Staples Center, which will make her the first WNBA player to get a statue outside an arena.

Leslie sits 7th all-time on the WNBA's scoring list with 6,263 points and fourth on the all-time rebounds list with 3,307, and her statue will be the 11th one to go up outside Staples Center.

It's definitely well-deserved and should open the doors to other WNBA teams honouring their legends in a similar way.
