The basketball world was dealt a crushing blow on Sunday when it was discovered Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi, along with seven others had lost their lives in a tragic plane crash. Across the entire basketball community and beyond, tears were shed as players, coaches, fans, and TV personalities tried to cope with the news.

For Los Angeles Lakers point guard Quinn Cook, that meant going and spending time with the fans out front of Staples Center, gathered around the house Kobe built and the statue erected out front.

Cook was a huge Lakers fan growing up, and Kobe was his idol. Heโ€™s seen here with a Kobe jersey in his hands.

The heartbreaking loss is sure to be felt for a long time to come, but if these pictures show us anything itโ€™s that thereโ€™s value in community. Keep loving the ones around you.
