Doug Gilmour had his number officially retired at the ACC this year (Sorry Mitch Marner), because he is one of the most popular Leafs players in hockey’s modern era.

That’s probably why so many Leafs fans are cringing at the sight of Gilmour in one of their rival’s threads. It shouldn’t really be a new feeling, as at the end of his career, Gilmour actually played for the Montreal Canadiens – although we assume most people have blocked that from their mind.

The reason for Gilmour’s jersey choice in the photo below is that he was at the Jason Blaine Charity concert, which is located in Pembroke just outside of Ottawa.

This whole jersey swapping thing has been in the news recently as Bieber responded to the people giving him hell for wearing several different jerseys in the past. Even with that and the fact that it’s for a Ottawa-region charity in mind, Leafs fans still couldn’t stand the sight of it.
