While he's no longer a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James reached out to thank former head Tyronn Lue, who was reportedly fired on Sunday morning from the Cavs.

Lue was the Cavs coach when LeBron brought an NBA Championship to Cleveland for the first time in franchise history back in 2016 and tweeted out a special thank you message on their time together in Cleveland.

Lue and the Cavs got off to a tough start in the 2018/19 campaign by losing their first six games of the season with the team still winless at 0-6.

Present members of the Cavs took to social media to thank their former coach, while some players seemed pretty upset that owner Dan Gilbert and the organization decided to part ways with Lue.

According to sources close to Adrian Wojnarowski, Lue had $15 million left on his deal. For the interim, Larry Drew will hold down the fort as the promoted head coach.

Through ESPN, Lue released a statement on the decision to be let go.

The Cavs made the announcment official on Sunday afternoon.
