It’s crazy to think that Avengers: Infinity War released over two months ago, and it’s crazier still to think that the Marvel machine has already cranked out another film since in this week’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, but, here we are. You can do that sort of thing when you’re a force in the culture.

Even since its release, the love for Infinity War hasn’t faded one bit, so with the NBA offseason in full swing, you knew the references were coming. After LeBron James signed with the Los Angeles Lakers, Chris Manning, also known as @LD2K on Twitter, decided to recast the team as the Avengers in a video aptly titled ‘LAvengers Assembled.’

The nods to Lakers greats of old is a fantastic intro, and you can’t not get chills at LeBron’s smile played over Thanos’ gravelly proclamations of rebalancing the universe. Meanwhile, the Golden State Warriors are portrayed as, well, the worst, so we’re all on board with that.

It doesn’t seem like every fan in Los Angeles has fully accepted that LeBron is one of their guys now, though, or at least it seems to have opened some old wounds in the ‘LeBron versus Kobe’ argument. (What an incredibly privileged problem to have!)
