Toronto Raptors fans were given their biggest scare of the season last night when Kyle Lowry fell awkwardly on his back. Lowry attempted to recover a rebound but collided with Brooklyn Nets guard Joe Harris in the air and hit the floor awkwardly shortly after.

Lowry was unable to leave the playing surface under his own power and was carried off the court by teammates.

Doctors later revealed that Lowry had suffered a bruised tailbone and is listed as day-to-day. It’s always tough seeing a player go down with injury, but many Raptors fans were likely expecting a more serious diagnosis based on the initial look of the incident.

Lowry’s friend and Eastern conference foe LeBron James showed his support to the Philadelphia native by sending his love and hoping he’s ‘straight’.

Toronto currently sits two wins ahead of Cleveland in the Eastern Conference standings but that doesn’t seem to matter at all to ‘The King’. A great display of sportsmanship from arguably the game’s finest.

The timing of the injury couldn’t be worst, as the Raps are preparing to take on James’ Cavaliers on Thursday night, followed by a meeting with the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. Kyle will likely be in a suit, but you can count on he and James to still embrace one another before and after Thursday’s tilt.
