Roy Halladay is one of the most legendary Blue Jays of all-time.

It's unfortunate he didn't get the chance to win a championship in Toronto, but that opportunity came later in his career when he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in December of 2009.

The trade was tough for Blue Jays fans to deal with because Halladay was the face of the Toronto franchise for so many years.  He was a fan-favourite for what he did on and off the field, and once he was traded, he wrote a thank-you letter in the Toronto Sun to Toronto fans that was so genuine and heartfelt.

Jays fans will forever have a special place in their hearts for Halladay because of the impact the Canadian Baseball Hall of Famer had on the city of Toronto and Canada.

After his tragic passing on Tuesday, the Jays sent out a statement that sums up how every Jays fan feels right now.
