The 2021 NHL offseason has been one of the wilder ones to say the least. The league added a brand new team, and the Seattle Kraken formed their roster by swiping players off of each NHL team (with fellow recent expansion team Vegas being the exception). On top of that, there’s the Jack Eichel drama. The Buffalo Sabres superstar wants out, and it’s been a wild ride as teams work out if they want to trade for him.

Of all the moves this NHL offseason, one of the most surprising was definitely the Vegas Golden Knights dealing Marc-Andre Fleury to the Chicago Blackhawks. It’s surprising enough to hear that the reigning Vezina Trophy winner is getting traded, but it’s even more shocking that the Knights got literally nothing in return.

Soon after the story shook the hockey world, we found out anything fold to this saga. Apparently we weren’t the only ones to be shocked by the news, even Marc-Andre Fleury found out on Twitter!

Wait, wait, wait, wait… Flower has Twitter??? CAN WE FOLLOW HIM???

While some fans were convinced that Fleury must have burner accounts that he keeps anonymous, it appears it was his agent Allan Walsh who found out on Twitter and relayed the message to Flower.

This clarifies the passive-aggressive tweet Walsh shared from his own account at the time.

Of course there are two sides to every story, and while the Knights acknowledged that the actual trade leaked on Twitter before they could chat with Fleury, they explain that Flower was aware of the trade talks and the potential destination of Chicago.

Walsh, of course, isn’t new to Twitter controversy surrounding Fleury. When Robin Lehner was getting more run than Fleury after coming in to play backup, Walsh shared a very controversial image that has since been deleted.

Many fans were quick to point that out while questioning Walsh’s side of the story.

On the flip side, other fans still weren’t happy with how Vegas handled the situation.

Finally, the curious fans got their answer as well: there are no Fleury burner accounts at this time, or at least, there’s no evidence of them…
