The San Jose Sharks handed the Vegas Golden Knights their first loss of the playoffs last night in a crucial Game 2 matchup.

After Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault’s original game-winner was called off for goalie interference, Logan Couture evened the series with a power play snipe in double overtime. The win came after their 7-0 loss in Game 1.

Sharks defenceman Marc-Edouard Vlasic has played in his share of postseason overtimes, but none appeared to be as intense as last night’s. As his teammates jumped for joy on the bench, Vlasic slowly fist-pumped and was the last player to celebrate with his teammates on the ice.

There’s a veteran who’s been through some tight ones.

Before Cotoure sealed the deal, things got a little ugly at T-Mobile Arena. After the goaltender interference call in the first extra frame, fans littered the ice with objects.

Both teams will now head back to the SAP Center where the Sharks are always dangerous. For the sake of hockey fans, hopefully they’ll be treated to some similar celebrations as the series progresses. This one could get interesting based on last night’s action.
